E-commerce websites built to sell in Sri Lanka

Online stores built to convert, not just to exist. With payment and delivery that match how business actually works here.

01The problem

Selling online in Sri Lanka has specific problems that generic e-commerce advice ignores. Card penetration is lower than the tutorials assume. Cash on delivery is still enormous. Delivery pricing varies by district. A meaningful share of your customers will want to complete the order on WhatsApp rather than through a checkout form.

A store built without accounting for that will quietly lose sales at the last step, the most expensive place to lose them, after you have already paid to get the visitor there.

We build around how people here actually buy. Local gateways configured properly, cash on delivery handled cleanly, delivery rules that reflect your real courier costs, and a checkout that does not ask for information you do not need.

02What's included

Local payment gateways

PayHere, WebXPay, DirectPay, Stripe for overseas customers: set up, tested and reconciling correctly.

Cash on delivery, done properly

COD as a first-class option with order confirmation and fraud-reduction steps, not an awkward afterthought.

Delivery rules that match reality

Rates by district, free-delivery thresholds and courier integration that reflects what shipping actually costs you.

Product pages that sell

Photography direction, clear specifications, honest stock status and the answers customers ask before adding to cart.

Checkout without friction

Guest checkout, minimal fields, saved carts, and a WhatsApp fallback for buyers who want to talk to a human first.

Product SEO

Product schema, category structure and descriptions written for search, so your listings show up with prices and ratings.

This is for you if

  • Retailers moving online seriously for the first time
  • Brands currently selling only through Instagram or Facebook DMs
  • Businesses whose current store gets traffic but very few completed orders
  • Sri Lankan brands selling to customers abroad

Probably not, if

If you are selling fewer than a handful of orders a month and just testing an idea, start on Shopify yourself or keep selling through social. Come to us once the volume justifies the investment. We would rather tell you that than take the money.

03How it runs
  1. 01

    Map the real sale

How customers find you, what makes them hesitate, how they pay, how it gets delivered. Including the parts that happen off the website.

  2. 02

    Choose the platform honestly

Shopify when it fits, custom when it does not. We recommend based on your catalogue and margins, not on what is easier for us.

  3. 03

    Build and integrate

Store, payments, delivery, inventory and notifications: connected and tested end to end with real transactions.

  4. 04

    Test the whole journey

We place real orders through every payment method and every delivery scenario before you go live.

04What you get
  • A complete online store, tested end to end
  • Payment gateways live and reconciling
  • Delivery and tax rules configured
  • Product and category SEO in place
  • Training for whoever runs the store day to day

05Questions
Shopify or custom: which should I choose?

Shopify if you want the operational side handled and your requirements are reasonably standard; the monthly fee buys real convenience. Custom if you have unusual product logic, tight margins that make transaction fees painful, or need deep integration with existing systems. We will tell you which after seeing your catalogue.

Which payment gateways can you set up?

PayHere, WebXPay and DirectPay for local cards, Stripe or PayPal for international customers, plus cash on delivery. You will need merchant accounts with the providers; we handle the technical setup and testing.

Can you migrate my existing store?

Yes, products, customers, orders and URLs. URL migration matters most: done wrong, you lose the search rankings you have already built. We map redirects for every old URL.
